I have been free of my health anxiety for a couple of years, but now it's back and I can't get past it. In the past two month, I have thought I had colon cancer, ovarian cancer, melanoma and now breast cancer. I've been trying really hard not to symptom search, but I still have so much anxiety especially in the evenings. This just takes over your life.

Hi and welcome to the site.
I got over mine for a year too and at the moment it's back as bad as ever. I know how it takes over your life. I'm not the best to advise you as I'm struggling too but there's alot of good advice on here. Have you read the health anxiety section on the homepage, very good info there.
Try and see this as a blip, you've got through this before and you will again, I'm telling myself the same.
Take care,
LJ

hi guys,

Me too!! Ive had this irrational health fear since April this year. It ended me up in hospital in June due to a fear of something that wasnt there. Things picked up but I'm sat here off work for two weeks due to stress.

I just keep trying to tell myself that I'm worrying over something that very probably isnt there. Infact, I'm probably making myself feel worse by all of the worrying I'm doing[Duh!]

But its easy for folks to say not to worry, they aint the ones who are freaking out all hours of the day!!

I agree with LJ. Have a good look around the site, theres some great info on here. And I really hope you are feeling more like yourself soon.

Take care

Hi Mindfulness,
I was the same last year, but mine was heart attack and stroke, because i had 2 family members suffer with these within a year of each other. I did a CBT course for health anxiety and it turned my way of thinking around completely, maybe you could ask your doctor about referring you for a course similar to that.
Take care

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
