Hi i know we all go through this but i am 100% sure i have skin cancer! i have at the moment 3 moles that are desplaying the ABCD's of melanoma. I get my boyfreiend to check that all my moles have not changed so i am sure thay have not got any bigger and i have been going out with my boyfriend for 9 years he said i have always had them! they all have a really irregular/ jaggered boarder between 6 and ad 8 mm on i think 1 could even be 1 cm but is on quite a hard to reach area 2 are flat and 1 is flat but with what looks like a raised bit maybe even an blister type of thing in the middle. the one on my boob is flat but has what looks like a load of brown speckles in it. ! as they have been there for some time i felt my glands and know they are all up so that means the cancer has spread i just want to kill my self! i am terrified to go to the doctors i have googled and my moles like the ones on there! i know they will refer me to a dermatologist and they will remove these i just cant do it! im thinking i never had anxiety i just knew i was going to die young! im 30! Very scared and very alone!

Calm down. In the past week two people I know have had them removed and they are perfectly fine. Either go to your GP or see if there is a mole clinic near to wear you live. There is no point worrying about something that may or not be something bad.

I have a mole behind my ear which was only a tiny pimple a couple of years ago. Now its raised, scabby and lots of brown spots on it. I went to see my doctor a month ago and he checked it with what looked like a tiny magnifying glass. He said everything was fine. He specialises in skin disorders so i should trust him but its hard to when my mole looks like the malignant ones ive seen:shrug:

So you would rather die of cancer than get them checked out then?

Loads of people have moles safely removed and loads are never even cancerous.

Please get them checked out for peace of mind.

You have a point! some times my fear is so bad i would rather kill my self than get checked out at the doctors i know its stupid but this is my anxiety! i have no rational thoughts! if people ask me i am very good at giving advise but it completley freaks me out! i have had CBT and it seemed to work for a while but that has gone completly out the window! i have been googling melanoma sites and there are not good! also my blokes auntie is dying from melanoma! i am in sutch a state iand i am off on holiday tomorrow!

Hi, just thought I would reassure you. I had what was thought to be a very dodgy looking mole on my back which was taken out last week. It had all the signs of melanoma. It wasn't. I've just had the results and its benign. Its important to get checked out if your unsure and a dr can tell you what a normal mole looks like and what an abnormal one looks like... you are not qualified to do that... nor is Google.

Google is the enemy of all people with anxiety!
It's so hard not to do it and some have even coined the term googlitis because it's so hard not to do a search everytime anything irregular appears!
You'd be far better off to know what you are dealing with than to guess and worry.
