I'm sure I am suffering from HA to some degree. I was hyperthyroidic for some time and have just recently normalized. This has caused a constant strong heart beat and intermittent palpitations and of course anxiety. Doctor says the palpitations may continue up to 3 months after normalizing my dosage. I currently have to wait 3 weeks to get the stress ECG test which is beginning to feel like an eternity.

I currently have chest pains that seem to come and go. I can't trace it down to my heart, muscles, lungs or stomach. Plus I have pain in my left arm, shoulder and hand which at times seems like nerve damage, muscle pain or arthritis. Seems to change from moment to moment and place to place.

Are there any natural remedies or therapies that can relieve these aches and pains? I am positive that if I can remove the pain the anxiety would be reduced greatly.

Looking for anything that will alleviate the pain as well as reduce stress.

Thanks

If its athritis Devils claw is meant to be good for pain relief. Also taking Cod liver oil 100mg is recommended.A good but more expensive remedy is Glucosamine ,make sure you get a good one.A vitamin B complex is excellent for stress and nerve problems, again get a good one.If you have thyroid probs its best to check first with your Dr if you can take them.Natural remedies do interact to things sometimes . Have you read the Natural Remedies section on the main menu? Hope you feel better soon .Sue x

Thanks Sue.

Been taking the B complex. I've actually been doing that for a while for mild carpel tunnel so not sure what affect it is having on this new stuff. I don't think it's arthritic, mostly muscle and nerves.

Chest pain which is as I learned from other posts, is due to the intercostal muscles. This is the number one ailment I want to remedy. Then the pinching and aches in my arm and shoulders. If I didn't have these pains I know my anxiety would be greatly reduced.

Pain like that is best treated with Relaxation and heat therapy.I use a wheat pad I heat up in the microwave. A topical muscle rub can help,I got some made up from a herbalist who specialises in Indian remedies.Tens machines are also good, but take a bit to get used to.The more relaxed you are ,the less pain you get. Muscles tense up when we are anxious..and can cause nerve pain..Acupuncture is good and Reiki healing .Learning deep breathing techniques combined with a relaxation tape will make you feel so relaxed.Hope you find something that works for you..Sue x

Hi, I have just had a hypnotherapy session dealing with my health anxiety and my fear of death: we treated these as if they were both the same thing. It's only one day since my session. All I can say is my health anxiety has improved overnight and my general anxiety has been almost nonexistant today.

I have this chest pain which comes with fibromyalgia and is called costo chondritis I believe. All heart tests are normal but this still drives me crazy as HA rears its ugly head and panic sets in!! I use Ibobrfen Gel and pain killers. Some people find heat helps and others advocate cold compress...it is just what works for you if this is what is bothering you. I also have Valium for emergency and this relaxes the muscles. If you look up the above on this site others have posted and you may get some comparisons or ideas. My shoulders, neck also ache along with various other parts at different times. Falling to bits really!! Good luck in finding something that suits you. XX

Thanks for all your suggestions. Although some are not an option as I have no insurance and no job.

On a lighter note, my thyroid levels finally came out normal after the third dosage change, most of my physical symptoms have dissipated to the point where I have canceled my cardiologist appointment and I have reduced my Lorazepam (Ativan) down to nothing.

My last .25mg dose was night before last and I am still feeling a slight tension and waking early morning (not normal for me) and I'm experiencing a lot of Bruxism (jaw clenching) and twitching of my lower eyelid which drives me nuts. I'm chalking this all up to Lorazepam withdrawl.

I know I am probably have an underlining anxiety and depression issues due to my unemployment and mortgage obligations, but at least there is no more lighter fluid being squeezed into the fire.
