Hello all.. I am here with you for the first time with years of panic/anxiety experience. Now in my 70's I have been dogged with anxiety and panic problems most of my adult life, thankfully, with less severity than some but usually enough to errode the enjoyment of new situations associated with things like work and travel, yet I don't give up in my efforts to get to grips with myself. Am looking forward to searching the forum for fresh approaches.

A big welcome to the site.

"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Thanks all. Big problem has been going into changing situations and there have been many since I worked for some years on overseas contracts. In the early years I was given some pretty awful pills to calm me down but of course they never did work for long. Over the years I coped because I expected to have to suffer and did. Strange thing is some time after work stopped (retired) things came back with a bang and I finished up paying for some sessions with a Psychologist which helped for a while but I guess that was mostly because I just didn't go into new situations. Now the main problem is with neg thoughts about health and the unfamiliar. Off on a big overseas trip soon so am expecting the jumps any time now !!
Any ideas/tips people ?
