Ello Ello everyone!

Another week, another bit of reassurance needed :P

So dont ask me how I found it, But I think I was rubbing my neck and just noticed the hard bump or something...Its nice and round, hard immobile and feels smooth, its location is a bit weird, its just to my right hand side of my spine, just a tad bit below my neck, and its scaring the heck outa me :P And first I didn't really bother all to much, but I just cant stop the ideas from popping into my head, even when im performing my hobbies they just "pop up" all of the sudden.

So now im worried that I've got somekind of Spread-out you know what, a few weeks ago I was coughing up green slime that got me worried about lung-C, (It went over though, Luckely <3) So for some reason at first I was afraid of that I had Lung-C after all and that it spread. Although that doesn't make sence even in my ears :P

And now I'm afraid that one of my Birth marks is actually a melanoma or smething like that!

So yeah, hoping for some reassurance once again <3

Kind regards,

Kraggy

Well I've decided to make a doctors appointment, unfortionatly I have to wait till wednesday...

Theres nobody who knows more about this..? Are there ven lymph nodes located in the area that I have described..? Are there any other things that can cause a hard, smooth and round object inside the muscles? Maybe somekind of tension..?

look at that mate, you should be able to tell if there's is 1 in the area your describing this article has given my comfort as is confirms it is normal to feel lymph nodes up to 1cm sometimes bigger as i can feel mine in my neck this makes me feel loads better

Thank you for your Reply, Mac.

It seems that there are indeed lymph nodes in that area (If I checked the "Map" correctly) The problem is that this one is completely immobile, the ones that I had on my jawline & the side of my neck are clearly mobile, but this one in my upper back (Between the shoulders, just an inch or two under the place where your neck ends) is just stuck, and it feels allmost asif it is a bone! Its not really that big, about the size of a finger tip..bit it still scares me alot because it is hard & immobile. Whilst the other ones I had were either soft & immobile or Hard & mobile. ^^

once again, thank you.

Okey..that site kindoff got me even more freaked out hehe. xP Because I now know that there's lymph nodes in the area, and it rememinded me about the signs of Malignency..

Ah well, for some it helps for others it dont, I shouldn't have clicked links on the site :P

Thank you for trying to cheer me up a bit ^^

On the left and right side underneath the neck and next to shoulders it hurts, and it feels like muscles. They move slightly when i rub them and hurt when i rub them.Is it msucle tension?how can you tell if you have muslce tension?

`Myeah im probably making a mountain out of a mole...But hey I guess that is what HA is all about ^^ As for Chrisi, if you bent the long-ish mobile thingie just above/behind you collar bone on both sides, it bothered me for a long time aswell, but my doctor said it was a tendon xP

Kraggy,

Let me first tell you that I totally understand your worry. I have dealt with HA for years and I know exactly how you feel. Let me first tell you that I don't want to dismiss you like your doctor is going to but I do want to emphatically tell you that you are fine. If seeing a doctor makes you feel better then by all means go, but I am know you are fine. I probably would too but please don't panic between now and your appointment. If you had Lunc C you would not be coughing up anything, you would just be coughing. If you had lymphoma, you would have a bunch of other problems too. I hope this helpsa and please go bac to enjoying your hobbies. This is easy for me to say and you will undoubtedly see post from me in a few days outlining my current fear where I have lost all this objectivity, so you can reassure me then. Good luck.

Thank you for the kind words J2 ^^ You are probably right, as most people on this forum are most of the time hehe I guess I just find this new lymph node feel very weird, I've felt multiple large lymph nodes in my body, diffirent sizes & all...but this one is just...weird...unlike any of em...maybe its because it seems to be located in the muscle tissue of the area between my neck & shoulders...I dont know ^^ If I see one of your fear posts I'll be sure to reply! ^^

My daughter has the same node in the same location but her Dr said it is slightly hard and less mobile than the one she has in the mid neck area (so it moves a little bit I guess). Did you ever have your node checked? What was the outcome?

The OP is from 2009. I doubt you'll get a response.

Yes thank you. I was just wondering if anyone else has anything to add . Not sure if deep posterior cervical nodes are affected by muscle structure?

Must be Lymph Node and ALS month on the HA calendar :winks:

I'm a survivor of Stage IVa Head and Neck cancer. To my knowledge nodes are not affected by muscle structure.

You say its hard and immobile, the best thing to do is get it examined by a doctor. Lymph nodes even when swollen should be some what mobile, lymph nodes are firm but they shouldn't be hard as a rock.

Dr did say it is 'slightly hard' and not as mobile as the one higher up in the neck. She didn't say it in not mobile at all. Either way she said there is nothing sinister in her opinion but we are going to see the ENT specialist next week anyway.
