Every time you avoid your fears they become stronger, every time you face your fears they become weaker.
Welcome aboard!! :D
"If life were simple, word would have got around"
thanks vvery much for the kind words, this is such a horrible illness... the anxiety feeds off itself and before you know it, its one vicious cycle...
not sure if the drugs kicked in yet, but i feel slightly more relaxed..
hi there! I am new to this as well today, but i thought i would wish you well.
I take diazepam at times, its a benzo so its effects are pretty immediate - well the calming effect is. Good luck with it and hope it helps.
I used to have an open mind but my brain kept falling out...

its "just a thought"
Hi, again thanks for the replies, just got into the office feeling a little spaced now and edgy, but its ok. Had a nightmare week with job interviews.. but bonus got offered the job, downside is the guy who didnt get it sits next to me.... very difficult atmosphere.. I think this is why the old ocd/anxiety has reared its ugly head, times of stress uncertainty bring it out. Just awkward that its a "symptom" i've not experienced before..
thanks again,
Hi Linesman
Welcome!
Well done on getting the job... hopefully the atmosphere will clear...the other guy probably just needs to get through disappointment. Feed off the positive...
Take it easy
Jon.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Hi Linesman
Welcome to NMP ! Glad to hear the news about your job, new jobs can be very exciting but very stressful, in fact every time I have got a new job with potential new challenges I always come down with a cold about two weeks after I start, which does not go down too well as you can imagine
Dont worry about your colleague I am sure he does not resent you for it and it will be great for your ego at the moment - We all need a boost
