Hi,
I had a CT colonoscopy last week and got the results this Wednesday. I couldn't believe it when the consultant said I have a tumour on my adrenal gland - which they have found by accident.
What is really bizarre about all this is that when I googled adrenal adenoma it mentioned it could be cushion's disease which I've never heard of before.
when I looked at the symptoms I could have been describing myself they were:
Moon Face cheeks - which is what some of my frineds call me.
Anxiety and Depression which I've had for years.
Swollen Ankles.
Swollen stomach
Spots on the chest and face.
I have every symptom and didn't even think Cushions Disease could be related to anxiety and depression? I have now been referred to an endocrine specialist so have got an appointment on Tuesday of next week!!

Bit worried about it all.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I was told I have a lesion on adrenal gland and no idea what that means! I still need to ask doc and you just reminded me too.

Good luck with next week and let us know how you get on please as I would be very interested.

Hi Wombat
I know this is a shock and alarming for you, but
The good thing is it has been discovered, and something can now be done.
Just wanted to send you my best wishes, and let us know how you get on.

Take care

Hi All,
Thanks for all your replys. In hindsight I'm a bit relieved they have found out what could be causing my anxiety and depression at last and that their could be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I have just been on a cushing disease forum and somebody has said I have found out backwards because normally if a doctor suspects it you will normally have blood tests etc and then go for a CT scan!!!

Forgot to mention that Cushing's can affect the Pituatary Gland or the Adrenal Glands.

When my consultant sat me down he said we have found a "nodule" called a edrenal enenoma - sounds better than saying a tumour doesn't it!!!! lol!!

Hi
Saw Endocronologist and have had some blood tests done and urine samples have to be done over 96 hours so will just have to see what the results are from them.
Will keep you all posted!!!
Wombat.

The consultants on holiday for 2 weeks so will just have to wait and see what happens next.

Hi, Wombat -- This one is down my alley. I recently was diagnosed initially with an adrenal "mass" after I got my own CT scan and MRI done due to a pain in my abdomen. I went in for surgery to remove it (the adrenal gland), and it was noticed the mass wasn't on my adrenal gland at all. It ended up being a paraganglioma. It is a very rare turmor and in most cases -- like 97% of them, surgery cures it (although for now I have to have some further testing done, and be watched for a bit to make sure that was the only one -- joy!). Sadly, I had to lose a perfectly healthy adrenal gland to this thing, but like with Cushins, once it is removed, you are cured. That's good news. Has it helped in my anxiety? I don't know. There have been moments I have suffered, but that could be post surgical stuff (it has only been 8 weeks since my surgery). Maybe in 6 months I'll better know. Wouldn't that be great, though??!! I would love to live life free of anxiety! :) My best to you and please keep me posted!! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me. Hugs, Wiskers ~
