This is my first time on the site and I can relate to so much of what you have all written. Glad to know there are others and not alone.

I have had anxiety for 20 years ( i'm only 37 now) I can go weeks feeling ok thinking I am over it. But then it comes back. I suffer also from OCD and GAD ,i ALSO THINK I'M A HYPOCONDRIAC. My heart can beat so fast and then I feel i want to cut myself again to take away the focus . I could sit checking my pulse for ages. I have tried deep breathing then checking but it makes no difference, I get so scared. My Doc has proscribed me Prozac in the morning with a beta blocker then if needed a diazipan ? The thing is i am so scared to take them because of all the side effects.( i have to check the information leaflet inside the box ) I know i need to take them but i am so scared .Is there anyone out there that feels like this too?????? Thanks soggypops[V]

Hi and welcome aboard.

Sounds like you have a few meds there that should maybe started one at a time if you are worried.

If it helps I was on Prozac and never suffered any side-effects on it. Diazepam is the same - that will relax you.

What beta-blocker have they prescribed?

See if you can relate to any of these previous posts about heart rate etc..

Hi soggypops!

I'm fairly new to the site as well and it's been really great knowing we're not alone. I've had OCD, panic attacks and depression in the past and its hard trying to deal with it all sometimes. You have to be patient with yourself and kind, try really hard not to hurt yourself anymore....If you're really unsure and scared to take the tablets you've been given you need to talk to your doctor again. You need reassurance that's the right option for you.
We're all here for you and thinking of you, you are definitely not alone!

You don't need to take them all - just take the proxac regularly and the diazepam/ Inderal when it all gets too much.

*I could sit checking my pulse for ages* You'd be much better getting up and doing something to distract you as this can be more anxiety provoking.
