Wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

Monday I was rushed via ambulance to A & E due to fast Artirial Fibrillation. This came on after hours of ectopic beats. Ive had them for years and years, and not been unduly worried. (well apart from the normal anxiety worry) They treated me with Flaxicide & within an hour my heart had returned to normal. The whole eposiode has been a huge wake up call, as they said the main reason apart from my obvious anxiety was my weight. I am approximately 6 stone over my ideal healthy weight.

Since then, I've been suffering from dreadful anxiety which I' gutted about because I was just beginning to combat the panics & able to go to Tescos etc by myself. I feel a wreck. The doctor telling me not to do any excercise until I;ve seen the heart specialist does not help. But you know what it's like with HA, you read EVERYTHING into anything anyone says. I have lost 6 lbs already, as I've been eating really healthy. I've cut out caffeine completely.

Something completely weird has started & I wondered if anyone else has experience a quivering sensation throughtout their torso. It's driving me nuts, and seems worse when I sit down quietly. I'm wondering if this is completely coincedance, as I have been suffereing a tad from a bad back of late. It's not the same quivering that you get with the AF. It's a strange feeling from within the body.

I've been readin up on the net (like you do) and it appears that this can be anxiety related. Am I alone ?

Hi hun :D:hugs:

Considering what you have been through and what you are going through its no wonder your anxiety is kicking off, please be kind to yourself hun :hugs:

When I was acute I got this a lot, ohhh boy, even when laying in my bed, It frightened the life out of me, but I know now, that its the body's way of getting rid of the adrenaline, we can get rid of it ourselves by jumping up and down, running up and down the stairs, but sometimes the bodys own mecanisum kicks in, which is internal shaking and gets rid of it for you, all this feels horrible, its harmless hunny :hugs:

After I read about what was happening to me and why, when it happend again, I used to give myself good reasons for it being there and tell myself it will pass, it always did and as time went on, if it happend again, I would repeat above, but then really feel the shaking and change my thought pattens on it, I told myself it felt nice really, Mmm, I feel this positive way of thinking about it help me lots.

You are not alone with this symptom, I have read lots of post about this in the symptoms pages and Nic has put links in to post for commom symptoms.

YOU TAKE CARE:hugs:

LOVE JILL XX

Thank you so much Jill. You have no idea how relieved I feel. I was thinking all sorts (as you probably well know)

I can say that this was a most awful experience, and it has knocked me for six, but I won't let it win. What you say makes perfect sense. Just knowing I'm not alone has helped.

I deliberately put the Quivering in the title so if anyone else comes along and put in search it will be easy to find.

You guys are great :):)

How did the AF begin? The reason i ask is because ive had palps for over 20 years and i asked RLR on the Palp Forum if benign palps can turn to AF as i read about someone it had happened to and he said absolutely not. He even asked me to find the information i had read and send it to him as its impossible:shrug:

Firstly don't start worrying yourself. (Easy said I know) My sister has AF so it's likely that I may have the same as her, and although I did have ectopics & then lead to AF, I'm not convinced that there is not an underlying problem - my weight not helping. (i'd had a extremely busy day that day)

Can I just say that they were not worried one bit with the ectopics and let me out of hospital even though I was still having them.

I've had the same thing happening over the past couple of days, it's so weird to feel your body shaking internally and really frightening, so I can totally sympathise with you Ragna. As I've recently had a homeopathic remedy, I (eventually) chose to think of the trembling as the remedy stirring things up in order to help the healing process so it's amazing (and fantastic) to hear that this is the body's way of getting rid of the adrenaline - thanks Jill. I've had a horrible few days but am feeling different and more positive today. If you think of it as a healing reaction (which it is), then it's all good. Luv Kayro

I think knowing that you are not alone is the first step. Like you say it's so frightening at first.

This is the first morning since Monday (when I was in hospital) that I've not taken a valium. I did however wake up with it, and mixed in with the collywobbles of the anxiety, it was pretty dreadful. It did subside and I'm trying to feel positive, like you say.

Amazing really what our bodies do to us !

Wanted to come and update you all.

I still have the quivering but not so bad. Half the battle is coming to terms with it, and knowing that you are not the only one.

I've been to see the Cardologist now who has informed me I do have Atrial Fibrillation and that I will being put on beta blockers & Flaxicide plus aspirin to stop the chance of stroke.

When I attended the hospital I was a complete and utter wreck, my ectopic beats were every 2 to 3 beats and I felt really ill - I knew these were 100% down to Anxiety.

I'm hoping that once I start the drugs,(Letter going to GP) I will stop having the ectopic beats which will in turn give me more confidence to go out and about more and stop the panics. We shall see, and I will keep you updated.
