Good evening,

I hope everyone is doing ok, I was just wondering if anybody knows much about stomach acid with anxiety? Before I realised I had anxiety one of the things my doctor decided, is that I had an inflamed stomach due to my diet and this was causing excess stomach acid which in turn caused the anxiety type symptoms. Occasionally I feel like there is excess acid my stomach feels bloated and I have an acidic taste in my mouth then the panic usually follows. I know I have anxiety I was just wondering if the stomach acid is making it worse in any way?

When you have anxiety, it causes extra acid to be produced in the stomach as a result of chemical activity due to the anxiety.

It can be quite a viscious circle, definately diet can be a factor as can stress.

Diet and medicine can control it as well as relaxation and lifestyle changes.

If you're not already on meds start with some gaviscon and if that doesn't hold it see your doctor for something else.

We have good reports of aloe vera juice helping too.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
