hi there
im jess and am 20 years old, i have suffered from emetaphobia (fear of being sick) for as long as i can remember. In recent years my anxiety has basically taken over my life, i find doing normal things like going to work or socialising very difficult and have to really push myself all the time just to make it through the day without my anxiety winning through. I am very lucky to have a very supportive family, boyfriend and circle of friends and really wish i could get to a point where i can enjoy going out and socialsing with them all instead of being a nervous wreck all the time. I have recently moved out of the family home into my own flat which i have found very difficult. Its been great to find a website like this one as it reminds me that i am not alone in my problems and it gives me hope that i might be able to get my anxieties under control so that i can enjoy life a little bit more.
cheers jess x

Hey Jess,

A big welcome to the site! You will find lots of advice and support here, and make some good friends.

Have you been offered any therapy at all? I have recently started CBT for panic / anxiety and have found it to be a godsend.

Take care,

Every time you avoid your fears they become stronger, every time you face your fears they become weaker.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
