For the past month or so i keep waking at night with an irritating 'tickle' at the back of my throat by my tonsil. Its driving me mad, i cough to try and stop it but it does not help, i drink water and this too does not help. Last night i was woken a number of times wanting to cough to get rid of it.
I had a look at my throat and can see a white lump on my right tonsil which i think is a tonsil stone (although i am not a doctor !) so could that be the cause ?.
My throat looks sore today and i am not suprised by how much i was trying to cough. I have no congestion etc just need to cough to shift the tickle.

Any advice would be appreciated.

hey, I don't know if this may be the cause but maybe you have an alergy (sp) to dust or something?

I have hayfever and often I get a really ticklly throat which I cannot itch to go away. It only happens now and then.

You should try buying an air purifier which might help.

All the best

Hey there,
It could be tonsellitus...sorry if spelling is wrong, as my daughter had those spots on her throat. I had a terribly tickly throat for weeks after I got the flu..
I used to make myself a warm drink of honey and fresh lemon...try it boiled water a spoonful of honey and some fresh lemon doesnt taste that great but helps..i had this problem for a few weeks..try not to worry it will go away

I have been getting this a lot lately. Also when the sun goes down I get a congestion that I am unable to get rid of for a few hours. I wrote a medical specialist asking a question about it and expecting to get an answer and his answer was this is out of my expertise. Great answer huh?

I do feel for you because I too am experiencing the same right now. I think a lot of it has to do with hayfever ,the weather and sinus. Hope you feel better..
