Hi All, firstly i must say what a wonderful and helpful site this is, I came across it whilst hunting for info on panic attacks in google.

My name is Michelle, I have been experiencing panic attacks on and off for several years. The worst came about a few weeks ago which left me totally confused and upset as i do not know why it came about. I have had quite a difficult year with a number of unpleasent events, so im assuming it has something to do with this. I am on medication at the moment which is helping with palpatations, and this week have finally been able to step outside and drive the children to school. It's a start, I get all the usual symptoms which most of you have experienced yourselves, i just cant seem to focus properly, i know my eyesight is fine but i have this constant haze, hard to explain, like everything is too bright and fuzzy. Does anyone else get this? I'm waiting for an appointment to see a counsellor although sometimes i think it's more psychotherpy i need lol.
Anyway, its nice to know i am not alone in all this and look forward to reading the forums and chatting to you all.

Best wishes.
Michelle

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Hi Michelle:D

Welcome to this site and you will get lots of support/advice here, I know I do!
It's good that you're addressing your problems and talking about things, the worse thing is to keep your feelings to yourself.
PM me anytime for a chat....I'm a mum as well and I can understand the anxiety you feel doing the school run!!
:)

Every time you avoid your fears they become stronger, every time you face your fears they become weaker.

Hi Michelle welcome to this site!

I know what you mean about the disturbances in visual field, its very freaky, I used to wear a cap all the time as I found that helped because not so much light got in to my eyes or something! I am much better now I am pleased to say and hope this will diminish for you too, and soon.

Well done on getting the kids to school, I know how hard that can be as I have two daughters. Thankfully they are now both at secondary school so they walk themselves now.

Best wishes,
Clare:D
