Hi everyone
I am so glad I have found you all! I am 34 years old and have suffered with occasional missed heartbeats for a couple of years, mostly at night. However, since May these have become much more frequent and happen during the day. Sometimes I am aware of them for most of the day. Sometimes I get a missed beat between only 4 or 5 normal beats. Does anyone else get them as frequently?
I went to the docs and had an ECG and of course there was no sign of the dodgy heartbeat then, just the usual tachycardia - I'm a classic white coat syndrome sufferer!!! I was referred to the hospital and I've got my first appointment tomorrow. I'm really dreading it as I don't know what to expect. I keep thinking I am going to be admitted because I've got something seriously wrong with my heart. You know how it is when you go into panic - I keep thinking I've got allsorts!!!
I tend to have a really bad spell for a couple of weeks and then I don't notice any missed beats for about the same length of time. I'm not sure of any triggers but I am aware that it is worse sometimes after I have eaten.
Sorry to sound so stupid! Please could you give me some words of advice or reassurance? Thankyou
Love Sarah xx
