Hi,

Has anyone tried beta blockers for panic attacks? They basically prevent the heart rate from rising too much and so help to quell the panic. I once had an absolute nightmare journey to Carlisle and couldn't see how I was going to be able to drive home. My girlfriend suggested I try beta blockers and, miraculously, the journey home was a breeze and I even felt confident enough to take a detour through the lake district! They're no miracle drug, but they can help to reduce the extremes of panic and it's consequent aftermath.

Ships in harbour are safe..but that's not what ships were built for.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
