illogical fear driving me mad!

I was reading a book on shamansim for a essay question and i started getting reading really scared of being possessed like in the exorcist i know this sounds crazy and stupid but i can't stop worrying, crying or thinking about it. i don't know what to do.. i think ths worry occcurred when i was younger and watching te exorcist but i just pushed it out of my mind

This is classic anxiety...people thinking they are going to go mad because they saw something about madness on t.v is another example,very common with people who suffer with fears.
If you still feel afraid you can always talk to a priest who know a lot about these things but that film was nothing like what happened in real life it was typical hollywood fantasy.
You have a far better chance of winning the lottery twice in a row than being taken over by the devil [}:)] you can contact a priest online there are plenty of sites if you really feel desperate and need to end this worry.
