cold/flu remedies and citalopram

Hi all

Why would my local chemist advise me not to take lemsip etc whilst on citalopram? What will this do to me? Need something but they just said its not good to take them together!

Off the top of my head I'd maybe say because they can both make you drowsy.

I'd confirm with your gp as sometimes if a chemist isn't 100% sure they will tell you can't take it to cover their back. I was told by a chemist I couldn't take NSAID with my meds but my doctor said I was because I don't have this that and the next thing.
