Hi

No advice but i have found a good nhs site that explains
http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/resources/patientinfo/urology/havingarigidcyteroscopy.pdf

I am sure it will be ok.

If the above is not enough, Google it or ask your GP.

Take care

Steve

Thanks, I have something like this from the hospital. I was asking mainly if anyone has had it done and what it was like.

Thanks again

My MIL had one, she didn't say that it was really bad or anything. I am sorry I can't be more specific :hugs::hugs:Hope it goes OK

Hi

I had one done around 23 years ago, not sure if it was rigid or flexible, but i had a bladder stretch at the same time. It went ok, i had a GA, , the only thing was it was uncomfortable to pee for a day or too and on the plus side, having the bladder stretched increased my capacity , and i havent had many problems since then.
It 's all over pretty quickly too
Hope it goes well,

P x

Hiya

I used to work in a urology department that specialised in rigid cystoscopies as well as flexible ones. Dont worry they will give you some local anaesthetic gel before they inset the scope and they will talk you through it. If you try and relax it will be no probs at all.

all the best

Hi

Thanks for ur responses, i will have GA so wont know a thing about it all! I think that worries me as much as having the procedure done! I was told i'd only be out for 20-30 mins, its just the thought of it that all. Scared yes : (

Hi there,

I had this done at the beginning of the year. Whilst I had all sorts of HA re the GA etc the overall procedure was fine.

As you say you will not know alot about it and will be awake before you know it.

Feel free to PM me if you wish otherwise will be thinking of you tomorrow, :hugs:

A x
