Disability for severe anxiety

I know we all live in different places around the world, but i am looking into apply for disability insurance since i am unable to work at this time due to severe anxiety. Im concerned that i will be turned away, them thinking i am faking it just to get money or them looking down on me because i am unable to work.
I just wanted to know how many of you are on assitance and was it easy or very hard to get on this? i desperatley need something to help me financially or i may be going to the streets...

I would have thought the first step would be to get a professional in the field to give you a full written diagnosis. Not sure of your procedure as i am in the UK.
