I need help

in 2 weeks I have to go for a trans oesphogal echo - where they put an ultrasound probe down your throat to look at your heart.

I have cancelled once already - and i want to cancel again.

Im so scared of the sedation, worried that I wont wake up. Sedation is a must for this test apparently so that I am not asleep but i wont remember anything

My HA is kicking in big style and I dont know what to do.

What does the sedation feel like.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

Amanda

Amanda

When I first went for a sigmoidoscopy I was terrified of the sedation and refused it outright.

When I had a colonoscopy last year I knew it was going to hurt a lot and I asked for just a small amount of sedation which I had.

It was fine - you just feel a bit drowsy and nothing more to be honest.

I was like you but now I know it isn't that bad I won't think twice about having it again.

You will be fine I promise.
