Anyone taken Valerian with blood pressure meds

I bought some valerian tincture ages ago (still just about in date) because I'd read such good things about it and couldn't find any interractions - it's sat on the shelf coz I have a real fear of medications (even my bp ones but I've no choice there) ...... as usual, I delved too deep into asking the same old question and found a few sites where it says it shouldn't be taken whilst on bp medications because it can lower blood pressure - surely if I only take a quarter or so of recommended dose, I should be okay but now I'm panicking for a change!!!! Just wondered if anyone had any experience in this please x:doh:
