hi all......

i've joined NMP cos my partner suffers with GAD , OCD plus more :weep:

however he also has a strange sympton that we cannot find anything on whatsoever....the doctors don't treat it as a problem but at times it's so disabilitating.

he cannot stand heat....of anysort.
we have to have air conditioners on in the house constantly, even in winter, if he gets too hot he has an attack. he cannot go outside because it's too hot, even when it's cold to everybody else.

has anybody else suffered with anything similar....how did you get over it or deal with it to make life a bit easier ????????

take care

Hi there,

It sounds like it`s all part of the anxiety. Symptoms sometimes have weird ways of effecting you and they`re not always rational!
I suffered with itchy legs during my anxiety and my doctor wasn`t worried about it at all he said we needed to address the anxiety itself. Once that was under control my legs stopped itching!
He could get a second opinion, once you`ve got an understanding doctor on board, you`re already half way there!

how much heat is too hot for him?
I live in Ireland and I can't stand the heat in shops, clothes shops are the worst.
when I get anxious I tend to sweat and feel hot so add the natural high temperature of stores to that and well I end up feeling to hot and claustrophobic.
I find bus's, trains, planes uncomfortably warm too.

I get very hot. When I'm anxious I am soaked. I am now taking Lithium and cannot stand being out in the sun at all. I'm afraid I just have to put up with it - I take lots of cool drinks and suck ice pops.

I have a similar problem when it's hot or humid, especially when there feels like there is very little air about, it's just one of those things with anxiety.

I have had this. A feeling of intense heat in the body which takes a while to subside, it can be quite alarming,
