I recently quit a comfortable retail job I had started a few months ago for a better paying factory type job. Its been one week and I am struggling to get the grips with it, the guy who is training me shouts at me a lot and does'nt really explain t ome why I need to do xyz, and I am just super stressed because I don't want to feel useless. It seems like my performance is harming the team targets etc, its all very stressful. I don't really fit in and some of the people there have given me a nickname, I am not sure what to make of it. I know I wanna quit but I need to find another job first...

Any tips to survive?

Hang in there! Forget what those ignorant idiots think, you're there for one reason only, to make the money, not necessarily to make buds. Just keep lookn for that other job, and be head strong

Good luck!

I agree with Becca. Also, why do they insist on letting ignorant idiots train people?!! Training people needs people skills and this person obviously doesn't have them and also think they've never been where you are!! I'll be honest - I don't think I would be cut out for factory work, and I don't mean to offend anyone - I have friends who work in factories - I just think you need to be thick skinned in order to fit in and I'm a sensitive soul!! Yes, keep looking for that other job. More money is great, but your health comes first. In the meantime if you have to work there just do your job and go home. Don't give them any thought as they're not worth it.

Youl find that cocky staff who think they are SUPERIOR are generally losers outside of the workplace.Proberbly spend all their spare time cross dressing and watching child pornography.
