Sorry to bring this subject up, but i feel its an embarrasing subject that most people shy away from "Me included"..

So just hope that someone could shed some light on the subject, who knows more about it than me..

I went to the doctors "eventually" after years of not knowing if something was wrong with me, and he put it down to IBS....mmmmmm

Sometimes do you get the feeling that they just say IBS, because they dont really know??

The thing is i have looked at all the IBS symptoms and yes i can relate to a few, but i really dont know if it is or not..

(1) I dont get bloating or a lot of pain..

(2) It doesn't ease from time to time like IBS does..

My main concern is stool form does anyone else suffer from this, mine is mostly loose, fluffy and breaks into lots of pieces when flushing the toilet, occasionly it can be what i would call normal but i can go again half hour later and it will be totally diffrent diarohea or very loose and fluffy..

I worrie if there is something wrong with my digestive process...

Can anyone realate to this..

Sorry for bringing up this subject but it might also help others who are to affraid to ask..

Cheers

Dan

i think the gillian mckeith or whatever her name is perfect stool rarely exists... no smell.. mustnt sink or float.. perfect size and colour lol.. sorry i shouldnt joke but my number 2s are NEVER perfect.

I think you probably just have very mild ibs caused by extra wind cause of anxiety.. if its been like this for ever and no 'sudden change' or blood then dont worry.. try eating less spicy food/sugary food and acidic foods and it might help.
Could be a bit of a food allergy so maybe keep a food diary and try cutting different things out each week

if it's that bad maybe see a specialist?
when I had IBS my intestines would cramp u real bad, I knew it was IBS because the tablets i had worked wonders.
i rarely get pain any more but for the last month I have been getting loose stools too , going to the bathroom way too much to the point my butts sore and irritated.
maybe try more fibre? you can get fibre you add to water. if that doesn't help ask your doctor to refer you to some one

It cant hurt to take digestive enzymes with meals. I had IBS bad and started taking them and probiotics and it made 110% difference. The only time I have any problems now is with very greasy food etc. Stress can wreak havoc on our digestive tract even if its not IBS chances are stress is the culprit.

Hey

I had a period of becoming obsessed by this very subject, eek!!!!

Its mainly the colour, I have noticed that depending what I eat or drink it can change the colour of it. Grim!

So mine vary from time to time, and I have began to stop panicking about it, as is does me NO good whatsoever!!

Hi all,

This is my latest obsession as well.

Almost loose everytime I go, looks like slush in the mornings, not sure if morning stools are usually like this after sleeping?

Also been getting flat stools, which has been worring me as well, anybody get this?

If y'all want to talk about stool...I have a wide "variety" of types...to the point where anything is normal in my book...

"Branch poo" - it comes out with...branches

"paper poo" - flat as paper

"Pebble poo" - exactly what it looks like...

"Loggy poo" - its big its heavy its wood

"Milkshake poo" - loose and gross

I try to maintain some humor with my bathroom experiences...it makes me feel better. Hope I didn't offend anyone.

My husband has colitis and trust me...nothing of what any of you describes is anything like him...after sitting through a GI appointment with him...I know there is nothing wrong with my poo....

Hi Dan, do you get pain in your rectum ever? I have had mild pains in my very low right and left stomach along with mild rectum pain. It doesn't go away with going to the toilet.

Hi Mathew, sometimes i get a spasm in the rectum and pain under my left rib which my doc assures me is related to my I.B.S, i am not to worried about it, because i have had it for such a long time, i believe its just something i will have to come to accept..

I'm still getting ANXIOUS over it..the doc gave me meds to slow the bowel down for IBS but they never worked..somebody said maybe I have a nervous stomach as it churns and somersaults. So I sat here worrying about my bowels and slowly it came on..and I had to go..

I'll never be able to work again like this..I could get a sudden rush? Sometimes I go 3/4 times a day but I'm so anxious over it incase it's serious!

I,ve not had text book turd for donkeys years .
Loose , pale , flat ,brown , going 5 times a day , then miss a day etc etc , sorry to be graphic but thats the only way to explain .

As Dahlia says blood and weight lose are alarm bells , obviously keep in touch with the Doctor but whats normal for one person might not be normal for another .
