Hello all.
i live in Leicestershire with my partner, two cats and one dog.
i suffer from agraphobia mainly, ive had it since 1993, have coped until now..... ive perfected avoidance tactics perfectly and spend 23 hours indoors apart from when i walk my dog ( very close to home but am safe with her )
i never go out alone.
Im also an artist and specialise in Pet Portraits and am trying to set up a small business working from home as ive been told i am not entitled to disability benefit of any kind so im actually penniless and have no other way to support myself apart from my partners small wage....life at the mo is a bit of a struggle.
well...thats me for a start, i wanted to say hello to everyone and will post around the boards soon

Hi Moon,

I saw you yesterday! Although, with all this cloud about I doubt I’ll see you tonight... sorry, bad joke!

On a more serious note, I’m sure that you will find this forum helpful. :) I only joined last month, but it has helped me already.

Sorry to hear that you are going through a bad time at the moment. Take care & all the best with the pet portraits.

Matt

Hi Moonstone,
I hope you find some help here. I am new too!
I totally understand what you say about the avoidance techniques. I have been working but when I am off from work find it almost impossible to leave the house. I think it is fantastic that you have a dog and a wonderful artistic interest. I wanted to get a dog for the very fact that I felt that he / she would get me out of the house. I am animal mad and would love walking with my new best friend. Sadly I can't as I work stupid 10 hour shifts 6 on four off so not an option at the moment.
I don't know about you but I just feel so hopeless when I am forced to go out. It's not like anything terrible is going to happen to me, I just don't want / see the point in missing the horrible outside world. At home I feel safe. The panic attacks I have been having are horrid and debilatating How is it for you?? Do you have any other symptoms?
