Newly on propranolol and it has definately had a significant affect on my heart rate.. trouble is now is seems a little too slow.

If anybody can tell me how low propranolol took their heart rate i'd be grateful. I know the normal (without meds) is 60 -80 (or 100 in some cases).

Fairly sure mine is less than 60 by a little at the moment.

Do i need to take a lower dose?

ALSO.. is it likely that each day for the first few days the medication will take my pulse rate lower still.. or is it likely to stay the same as on the first day after taking the meds???

Thanks
Mand

i meant 6 not six actually 56 is perfect athletes have pulse like that ,that's why they can run it isn't such a strain on there heart,so your fine the propranolol your taking are fine the Doctor wouldnt give you that amount if he wasn't sure ,doctors are there to make you better not worse one thing yo must stop checking your pulse it will only make you more anxious.i got a bp monitor and checked it every half an hour it made me ill if reading was high or low even thou i knew your bp and pulse alters during he day so i stopped doing it ,,hope this helps x
