I have been feeling better recently. Had cbt and seemed to have got on top of things.

However, the anxiety is coming back now. I have had major hormonal problems since having my third child 2 years ago. Initially, after his birth, I bled for nearly 12 weeks. Since then, I have had awful mid-cycle pain and spotting that starts about 4 days after the end of my period, PMT that seems to last about 2 weeks - honestly, I only have about 1 week in every 4 where I feel normal in that department!!

Over the Summer, I had 2 months of everything being pretty normal. This month, the mid-cycle thing started again but this time it hasn't gone away. I feel so hormonal all the time, aching, spots, emotional etc... I have had a clear smear and clear ultrasound. The doctors say it is just a hormonal imbalance but it just keeps getting worse and I can't help thinking they have missed something vital. Anyone had anything similar?

Hi

I have finally managed to make a telephone appointment with my GP tomorrow and will insist she refers me to a specialist!! I can't go through this every month and I really don't think the excess of hormones is helping my anxiety either!!

Hi hun, i gave birth 9 months ago & my god how things have changed. I bleed / spot 4 days before my period is due, awful pain mid month, heavier periods than i can ever remember & really bad stomach pain some days due to trapped wind ( how lucky are men)

its good your getting it checked out but tbh you might find its 'normal' for you. Are you on the pill as that is mean to help massivly with hormone things. Im not on any BC but i was for about 2 months and i felt much better. It will be something related to the birth & nothing horrible like you expect c]x

o also i am never 'on time' and they can last between 3-5 days and awful boob pain. Giving birth can clearly change things ...... a lot!

Hi Jo

I gave birth just over a year ago also to my third child. I have such bad pain mid month spotting and the most terrible stomach aches along with pain under my upper ribs. I have had many many tests and all they found was a hiatal hernia and gastritis after an endoscopy. I think the body must change loads after having a baby, but it certainly has made me feel extremely anxious. I think also because I wasnt like this after the other two. Also the lack of sleep and demands of a small child can certainly not be helping us. I ache all over all the time. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Tash. I know really that it is nothing awful as it started directly after having my son 2 years ago. With my other kids, I was fine!! And I have had clear tests so it is just a case of finding the right cure for me. I am not on the pill but think that might be the way to go - that is why I am asking to be referred as my GP just keeps saying "it's just a hormonal imbalance" which doesn't actually help me!!

I know other people who have had problems too since having kids. What we go through eh?

Thanks again x

Thanks Chris. I have had stomach problems and pain under my ribs too. I just want to have a little more than 1 week every month when I feel relatively "normal"!!!

Hi Jo
Sometimes I think the rib pain was what started off the anxiety and then the stomach problems followed. Oh I agree just to feel "normal" again wouldnt that be lovely. If only there was an answer. Lets keep hoping we get better soon. Hope all goes well with the doctor.
