WEll, my CBT training seems to have gone out the window!!

As in previous posts, have hormonal problems and now nasty aching and stabbing pain mostly across my lower right side where my ovary is. I also have pain on the other side but not as bad. IT also hurts to touch although I may have made it worse by constantly pushing on it! Also have low back ache and groin pain, mostly on the right side. Also pain under my ribs on both sides. Have had upset stomach and diarrhoea for 2 days too but I think that is just my IBS playing up because I am anxious - it is hard to tell. I am a mess and seriously panicking about ovarian cyst or cancer!!

Have had no end of hormonal problems for nearly 2 years since my son was born, mostly involving mid cycle pain and spotting. Had this this month too but for longer and then followed by this pain. Had clear smear a year ago and ultrasound in May which showed a small, simple cyst on my right ovary.
Going to doctors later on this morning but in pain on both sides now and can't stop crying and thinking the worst!! :weep:

Hi

I know where you are right now with the anxiety, and nothing i can say will make any real difference to you, but hopefully after you have been to the doctors this morning, you will have some reasurance and start to relax a little.

I too have been having hormonal problems since december, and i know how unpleasant it is, and you just never know where you are with it. :weep:

Here is a big hug for now, :bighug1:

let us know how you get on this morning

SAw doctor and she said it was hormonal and prescribed the pill for 3 months to try to get things in check.

My stomach pain is still there but sort of all over now, especially under my ribs which tends to happen when I get a flare up of IBS. Also low down pain is right across and sore to touch like muscle pain or bruise - very wierd!!

Thanks for you help this morning

I'll bet a fair amount of the pain is psychosomatic to be honest. I had the same worry years ago. The doctor kept diagnosing I.B.S but I didn't trust her (which was crazy as she was a brilliant doctor) & I ended up suicidal, she put me on beta blockers & arranged for me to see a specialist within days.
He diagnosed I.B.S, & I actually trusted him, strangely enough! I came out of there like the cat that got the cream, & within a couple of days the pain was almost gone.
To be honest though, looking back, I dont believe I had I.B.S at all then. Ive had the pains since, off & on over the years, on the left side, & I am 99% sure its an ovary cyst, that flares up & goes away. Because of the amount of times ive had it, I no longer worry I have cancer. But ive had allsorts of symptoms with it over the years, like bloating. Apparently there can be an ABCD of PMT, so thats a possibility....A- Anxiety B- Bloating C- cravings (food) D- Depression. And most people will only get a couple. Mine were Anxiety & bloating, but mine didn't just stick to certain times of the month, so who knows.
The way you are getting yourself in a state about it, will definately make the symptoms worse. Look up the word psychsomatic x
