Hi Moggy
I have this too. I have been asking and asking if anyone else gets it and although people complain of weird head sensations, you are the first to say the same.

Mine is like constant pressure in the whole of my head. I cant even comfortably sit in front of the tv because leaning against the chair is hard. Sometimes my eyes feel like they will pop out and my ears feel full.

I mentioned this to my psych and apart from getting sinuses checked (which is hard for me to get to docs cos i have agoraphobia) he explained that there is a massive muscle that starts at the base of your skull and wraps all the way over your head and obviously with us being so tense, it just cramps up.

I try as much as possible to ignore it which is hard because i think it adds to the dizzy, derealisation and disorientation feelings. If you can get involved in something, you forget for a while.

You are not alone.

We've all been there hun. The feelings are so bad that you think that there muct be something really really wrong. If tests are ok then having suffered on and off for 10yrs with anxiety, panic and depression and now agoraphobia, the tip i can give you is learn as much about it as possible. Get books by Claire Weekes, her books are my bibles. Everytime i read them, i have hope and a plan. She motivates me to try.

This is a vicious illness and it robs lives but there is a way back, i truly believe that but it takes hard work and determination. All the time you worry about bodily symptoms, then the vicious little bugger is winning. My therpaist says that its the biggest bully you will ever face.

Good luck. We are all rooting for you.

This may make you feel better. For over 2 months straight from when I wake until I go to bed I've had that feeling of pressure/tightness all throughout my head and ringing in both ears. For that entire time also I had a loss of balance and lightheadness/dizziness. Those two have just started to drop off this past week. I'm sure this is fairly "normal" for anxiety since I have seen multiple doctors and two neuros myself. I've found if I just stop thinking about it and ignore it, it starts to go away. Unfortunately it takes a LONG time. You aren't going to wake up one morning with it gone. It's taken over two months for me to start to recover, and even then all of my anxiety symptoms only dropped off one at a time. You just need to take control of your brain again and don't let it worry about something that isn't there. Each time you go 'round the vicious circle the anxiety and symptoms increase.

I get this all the time moggy. Some days much worse than others. The tinnitus has been really bad of late so I agree that it could contribute to it (even being the main cause)

I made a post a week or so back about Anxiety and phobias being caused by inner ear problems and there is a book out explaining it all. It may be worth a read. I haven't bought it yet so can't explain much of the theory.

Thanks a lot Smarty and Ninja... In respect to anxiety and symptoms dropping off, this is what seems to be happening to me bit by bit.. when i dont think a bout them , they dont happen or occur for a while ... today i knew it was a tension headache and didnt worry about and it eased off fairly quick ... oh the tinnitus is a bugger though lol

thanks

One thing I do without realizing it is I've been clenching my jaw sometimes, either when I'm concerned about something or going to bed at night, especially if I'm thinking about something. Things like that contribute to muscle tension. I believe that is also the main cause for the tinnitus. There are tons of muscles in your head and face as well as in/around your ears. The excess pulling can cause tinnitus.

hi guys, i hav been having similar...it started with tension headaches and migranes which i hav seen a doc about and was an=bout to start trying some medication, then only 2day i hav had the feeling of pressure across my forehead and been feeling quite hot. i am worried this is high blood pressure. it seems as one problem is under control something else happens :( it really gets me down. all of this started 4 months ago and i just want it to end. when i get the pressure feeling in my head it makes me feel dizzy also it really is awful, any advice would be much apreciated. i hav suffered with anxiety for quite a while but it just seems to be out of control recently....
