Is 4x10mg the same as 1x40mg?

Hi,

My GP has upped my dose from 40mg a day to 80mg a day.

I was initially taking 2x10mg in the morning and 2x10mg at night.

My GP has given me a new prescription for 1x40mg twice a day but I have a lot of my other 10mg meds still to use up and I wanted to use them up first, so my question is would it be OK to have 4x10mg until I run out so then I can start on the 1x40mg tablets?

I forgot to ask my GP so hopefully someone will know here before I ask my GP again.

I shouldn't think that would be a problem as long as it works out to the same amount per day that your doctor has prescribed.
