Hi All
I have been battling anxiety for the last five years ( I have had since a kid but has esculated the last few years) without meds and have been very up and down. I am fine till I have to face a fear then my anxiety esculates again leaving me 'running for the hills'.
So I spoke with the CBT specialist and said I wondered if it was time to give pills a go so I could try and face some of my fears as I can't seem to go it alone with willpower anymore? She advised to give myself a couple of weeks till I see her again on 15th Dec to think over. So I really wondered how people find meds? (I can't do beta blockers as asthmatic and have an epi pen.) I am taking inositol powder which I started taking on Tues to see if I can calm things down a little just now.
I do have diazepam to take when I need but CBT therapist and myself feel its just a crutch each time I use and maybe not as beneficial.
So any advice is most welcome as I would like to make an informed decision in the next couple of weeks as to whether it will help me finally get over the dread I feel when an event is coming up etc?
Any help/advice/experiences on meds or alternatives is most welcome.
