I Want To Come Off Fluoxetine!

Please push me in the right direction.


Will i go cold turkey?
Will i be really ill?

My mum is scaring me to stay on them and i cant take the side effects anymore im ready and willing to get off these !!

Its been about .. 3 months im not entirely sure but i WANT to come off of them now please! Help me !! :weep:

You can't just stop them. You need to see the doc and agree a reduction plan.

Dear Ruby please don't go 'cold turkey' as the withdrawal effects ie panic and anxiety could be worse than the original illness. Three months seems to be a reasonable length of time to be on fluoxetine. If the side effects are too bad then maybe a change to something else might be in order? The 'side effects' could be part of your original illness. Judging from your previous posts from the last few days you sound very low/depressed but what type of medication you need is for you and your doctor to decide. Just don't stop taking the tablets. That needs to be done in a slow controlled way. Take care.
