Liquid Fluoxetine and side effects!!!!

:wacko:Hi all, just a quick question!! my daughter who will be 12 next month has just been prescribed liquid fluoxetine 10mg per day, it is to treat depression and OCD, will she have any side effects and if so how bad will they be, she had her first dose this morning?? would appreciate some advice, thankyou.:wacko:

It's impossible to tell how your daughter will react but children generally get the same side effects as adults. The important thing with children/young adults is to monitor their moods - which I'm sure you will do. Anxiety/nervousness, irritability and sleep problems are common early in treatment but generally improve over a few weeks. I think loss of appetite in children is another thing to watch out for. However, I hope all goes well for her.
