Hi I just am writing because for nearly 2 years now I have been convinced I have a heart problem. The drs say its only anxiety and panic blablabla but i think they just couldntbe bothered dealing with me. My chest is tight ALL the time exactly where my heart is. I get pains there and all up my left arm. I get short of breath and feel dizzy and weak. I just cant understand why and how my head would be making all these things up??? Okay, so when Im reasonable I think well it started with my breathing i had that checked then i thought i had a brain tumour so i had a mri on my brain. then i thought i had a hole in my throat so i went to a throat specialist and yeah all that makes me sound like im crazy blablabla but i cant stop thinking WHAT IF there really IS something wrong with my heart? What if the dr's are wrong? then they will be sorry they didnt look hard enough at my case :p anyway i was just wondering do other people suffering health anxiety feel ACTUAL PAIN? or do they just think about all this bad stuff?
IF anyone could get back to me that would be really great thanks
luv B

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

hiya princess!

I reckon the problem is we nearly all are feeling real pain which anxiety can cause - take a look at the links meg has given you - chest pain like yours was the first anxiety sign I had in my early 30s - I was convinced I was having heart problems for years but I'm still here (and 51 and a smoker)!!! It can be incredibly frighteningly real and the more frightened you are the more it hurts! But it will not kill you!!

If you can understand the process - lack of oxygen, acid production etc. you will be able to relax about it and it will pass..... a useful tool that everyone could do with learning because most people experience it at some point in their lives!

Read all about it on this site and it WILL help!

Good luck and keep your sense of humour!

It's taken me a long time to understand how anxiety can cause such physical problems, as it seems almost unbelievable - but it does!!!

Take care hun and have a good read of all the relevant posts and hopefully get some reassurance.

Love Piglet :)

"Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?" said Piglet.
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.

hi,

agree with piglet and other posts. anxiety causes physical probs too. and yes i am the same, thinking something seriously wrong but know deep down its just the anxiety. but you have been check out so you know that ther is nothing wrong physically. try to think positively, and take care.
