Pea sized lump under chin, base of neck area

Hi everyone,

Its been a while...and i was doing soooo well, but hey ive been googling again and need some help! So last night i found a lump under my neck, big enough for me to freak out. Its pea sized can feel it inside the skin underneath too, can kind of move it and is slightly sore. Im hoping its a cyst as i am prone to cysts but never in my neck.....but in my head of course im dying of cancer....and im a smoker....Anyone else had this? I feel really alone and worrying myself bloody sick about it. New Year New Worry!

It could be just a swollen lymph node from a virus or cold your body is fighting.

I have had one in my neck for a while and had it checked out and was fine. I am sure yours will be too!

My sister has had one in her neck for years and years - sometimes it is bigger, sometimes smaller. She has had it checked and it is nothing, apparently it is pretty common
