I have just started taking beta Blockers for my anxiety today. (Low dosage 10mg)

Has anyone taken these on here before? Any side effects that I might expect? And the most important question, how effective do you think they are for anxiety/panic?

All advice welcome.

Thanks:)

I have no idea, the container just says 'Beta blockers, 10mg take half a tablet a day'
Didn't know there were different types.

I take 10mgs of propanolol. I am suppose to take 20 but it makes my blood pressure drop too low. I havent really noticed side effects at all. I take a # of different meds and sill have anxiety so I cannot really judge how well the work.

Thanks for the replies. When do they usually kick in? The doc said they're a slow releasing drug, how slow? x

I 've been taking beta blockers for over four years with no side effects.
They do not stop anxiety but they should prevent the worst aspects of the actual panic attack by blocking the adrenalin. I guess this should help with the anxiety indirectly by lessening the fear of the panic attack itself- that's the theory !!
Best of Luck
