scared of eye test this afternoon

Hi guys,

Has anyone had tropicamide eye drops at the opticians?? I am really anxious about it. Not so much about the blurry vision but possible side effects and why they are doing it.

I have been seeing a round shadow in my vision which is why I went to them. They did loads of tests and now this one today. Am really scared - do they think there is something there?? Brain tumour?? Panicking and its making me feel dizzy and sick....

Any advice needed!

I think tropicamide just dilates your pupils and relaxes the eye muscles so that they can examine your eyes more easily.

I doubt very much they have any suspicion of a tumour as they will only be looking inside your eye. A brain tumour would be behind the eye, not inside it, so an optician with those sort of worries would send you straight to your doctor.
