hello there. found this room, and looks good for me. have been out of work for 2 and half years. started a training for work programme last week, lasted 3 days, then freaked out. made excuses not to go back, and finally realised i had a major problem. had several major panic attacks over the weekend, and finally admitted i had a serious problem to my husband, and sister. went to the doc and got put on propanolol and my anti-depressants increased. have been on the meds since monday, and feel positive for being honest with myself. i feel very nauseous, is this common? i have no confidence, and self esteem is rock bottom. i only feel safe with my husband and sister, and i used to be the most outgoing person. now i make excuses not to go out, socialise. any excuse will do. i am glad i am doing all i can to help myself, but feel lost and scared! just want to make friends, and help, and be helped with people in the same situation as myself. thanks for reading my rant, and hope to have some feed back. thanks vicfaith:shrug:

Many of us here have been where you are now. There is a brilliant book by Dr Claire Weekes;SELF HELP FOR YOUR NERVES ISBN 0-7225-3155-9.This is available from the NMP shop. Dr Weekes was a physician and scientist. She was a fellow sufferer (nominated for the nobel prize for medicine) and really understood this illness. She took the mystery out of it, and devised a simple programme for recovery. I can't recommend this enough. This will get better.

Here is a link to her site;
