But with a brand new year here now I want to tackle this thing head on and just basically understand and find remedies to tackle this. So any advise would be cool!.

My anxiety I feel is with me every hour of every day, I feel like I have no escape from it. even now when I sleep I have about a million strange dreams avery night. When I close my eyes I have images flashing everywhere. My head hurts evreyday and I feel exhausted. I also feel like I want to scream or shout shut up whilst in shops when on my own to people whats that about? have I lost it? I have been on proponal for 3 months. I recently went to the docs about my headaches etc as was worried had tumour-he wasnt very understanding and just told me have u ever thought its all in your head!! so that was good NOT!!.

Please give me some advise I feel quite alone with this I dont want to bother my boyf am always going on at him!.

Hi,
I totally understand how you feel. I get really strange dreams too and feel anxious all the time. The headaches are proberbly due to tension, i get that too, its caused by clamping your teeth together when your feeling anxious. Your doc should have been more understanding!

I think the most important thing you can do to help the anxiety is to realise that it cannot hurt you. This is very difficult but its true. If you add fear to the initial anxiety by thinking 'oh god' and 'what if' it just fuels it and makes it worse. Try to remember that no matter how bad it gets it is only anxiety and cannot harm you in any way.

There are many other things you can try too such as breathing exercises and relaxation but i think this is the key.

Hope this helps in some way.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Thank you for your replies Nell, Meg and Poppy[^]

Ive always been meaning to read the Claire Weekes Books, Is there a particular title I should read?

I too just want some sort of normality back in my life I want to be able to leave the house without worrying that I may stop breathing, or I may pass out.

Hi
check out the reading list on this site, it highly recommends 2 of her books and i would suggest that you read one of them, they will help, its sometimes good to pick a particularly relevant passage from the book and use it as a mantra to help you through difficult times, you will see what i mean when you have started to read the book, let me know how you get on

Hi,
I thought maybe this would help because it helps me a great deal when i feel anxious out of the house. Its from a claire weekes book.

Ask yourself why you feel anxious outside but as soon as you make it home you start to feel better. Its because you think differantly when you get back home, you think 'thats better' 'im ok now' and you start to relax.

If you could think this way while still outside the same thing would happen.

Take care

It's a fab start that you are being so positive and feel so motivated to make the change. The determination and perseverence will stand you in good stead.

I too have the racing thoughts in the night a vivid dreams but I try to ignore it, easier said than done though.

I hope that your positive thinking means that you can overcome the anxiety.

Have you tired acupuncture for relaxation? This really works. Also Chinese Herbal medicine. Also for good night sleep without any nightmares - pills based on valeriana. Enough exercies and meditation. 10 min of mediation every day will make a significant changes. For immediate start in mediation go to: http://www.aplacefortheheart.co.uk/frame.php?sp=/affirmations/affirmationlist.htm Please let me know if this helped - Regards Peter from London
