hi guys hope i find you well

i know this must be common with us people with health anxiety but wondered how others cope.

i have an overactive thyroid (you obviously may have a diff problem) and i saw my specialist about it and she asked whether i get any discomfort but i was mainly focusing on another issue that scared me with regards to my thyroid so i said no i dont get discomfort forgetting i did sometimes!

basically i am noticing this discomfort a lot know and my next appointment is in June!

do i just rationalise it because my thyroid is swollen (likely cause of discomfort) or do i get scared thinking it maybe cancer and ring up demanding to be seen sooner just to put my mind at rest.

please share you experiences on these matters, cheers

hi ya,
please don,t go down the cancer route - i know we all do it just makes matters worse - the fact that you are seeing a specialist for your thyroid is good, investigations etc are going on & it will sone be sorted - the mere fact that they don,t want to see you again until june is good - they know you will suffer some discomfort because they know what the problem isl - she asked you as she would ask anyone with the same problem - some would answer no others would answer yes i,m in agony !!! & yet they both have the same problem - because you suffer h/a & you are more aware of your problem it,s making you think that the discomfort is getting worse.please try & relax & put it to the back of your mind-i know it,s not easy-if all else fails you could phone up the secretary of the specialist & tell her that the discomfort has got worse & could she please inform her as you are worried, good luck & lets know how you get on :winks:
