I am prone to these. I have had one by my eye before, just below my eybrow/side of nose and I seem to be prone to them there.

I had 2 little spots in that area last week and in the last 2 days it has flared up into a cyst (feels like one). Tonight it feels really full, red and hurts and I am all worried now that it may infect my eye or something:blush:

I remember when I had one last year my GP said to leave it 2 weeks then he would lance it, but it did go. Are they ok to leave? is it ok if it is sore?

Mine ,being where they are..I just decided to leave them..They aren't going to kill you.. but if its infected see the doc.. Hope you feel better.Michael

I've had a few of these - 2 got infected so the doc gave me antibiotics. When the infection went they came back and the doc lanced them. Maybe you need a course of antibiotics?

Hi. my 9 year old daughter has had one on her shoulder blade since she was born. The doc will only remove it if it gets infected or is irritated by her bra strap or if she wants it removed when she is older if it embarrasses her (you know what teenage girls can be like). The one she had on her chest got infected and burst so the doc gave her antibiotics for that one. The doc and a specialist (because I insisted on seeing one being a totally paranoid new mother) both assured me they are nothing to worry about.:)

Jessica, you've had experience with these before...so have I. The lidocaine shot hurts a bit then no pain. If it is hurting, it may be infected. I had several on my scalp and the last one was removed because it was starting to hurt, no infection, he said but removed it anyway. Just get it looked at so you don't have to worry. I don't know if it could spread to your eye, I doubt it since it isn't connected but I am not a dr. Get seen, get it off your mind.
