I have a friend who is on 'lots of meds' for heart and other probs.
Some one trying to help has bought an Iceland ""Beef caserole in red wine"" she asked me if it is safe for her to eat it.
I have no idea - Don't even know who else to ask.
Can anyone give advice??

Food that is cooked with alcohol in it should be fine for anyone; the cooking means that the alcohol content of the wine evaporates and you are just left with the flavour. Hence why I give my child coq au vin and beef and ale casserole LOL !

:hugs:Thank you both :yesyes:
I have printed off your replies - they should put her mind at rest.
She has never been an adventuress eater so anything like this is worrying.
Thank you

I always throw wine into my cooking June, and deglaze pans with wine, as Carys says, alcohol evaporates with the heat and my kids have never been drunk yet after a chianti chicken dish ;)

Thank you all - i am of the war time generation that eats just very plain food :blush:so when my friend was given this food by her children who were doing her shopping she just freaked
""all the medication i am on and they bring me this""
i have to admit i was no wiser than she.
So it is good to hear you all agree its fine to eat :Djust hope she likes it now:yesyes:
Best wishes
