I have posted on here about my impending wait for results regarding a bruise I had under the toenail last week, the patch has been biopsied and I am waiting to see what it is.The last few days have been hell on earth and I am convinced they are going to tell me it is melanoma. The specialist said that if it turns out to be one he will have to cut the toe off and then do a body scan.I have had a queer sensation down below the last few days and can only describe it as a feeling of irritation at the pee hole(pardon the word)after I have finished urinating. It also feels like pressure or that something is hanging down inside that's all I can describe it like.I have googled my symptoms over this many many times and it said that melanoma can also devlope in the urinary tract so I am terrified it's gone elsewhere as well.I have just had a period and my husband is saying the sensation I have bben getting has probably got something to do with that, like an infection or something.Has any other person had this ?It feels annoyed at the entrance to the vagina that's all I can say and feel quite embarrassed writing it down but I am so scared at the moment.

have you had kids? I get that feeling sometimes and it is a mild prolapse (though I have had a few kids). You could even possibly have a UTI?

I hope all the test results come back clear xxxxx

It could also be from cleaning yourself a little more during your period. This is an extremely sensitive area and is often a little more sensitive at this time and the acidity of the urine would irritate it and give this feeling.

I hope that you will feel better soon. The bruise under your nail could be a number of things such as a hematoma from banging it, or even a glomus tumour which is benign. So please try not to worry, as there are so many other reasons for it. I don't know how old you are, but I read that melanoma under a nail is the rarest kind (only 2% of cases) and it is usually in people over 50.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Bless.

Please please please don't worry. I am a melanoma survivor, and I can tell you that I have read more on the subject than most doctors.

The most likely scenario is that you simply have a bruise or other mark. I had one under my thumb nail and went into 50 states of panic. Somehow I must have bashed myself without realising it. It wasn't sore or anything. And because I had had a melanoma before I freaked out and charged off to the skin cancer doctor. It was all nothing. Just a bruise under the nail. Took a while to grow out but nothing sinister.

Please also be assured that melanoma is NOT necessarily a death sentence. I caught mine early, because I was vigilant (read paranoid) about changes to a mole. And thank god I was. 5 years on, and all that happened was a surgical removal of the mole. I have even now been approved for life assurance and they are covering me for melanoma. You will be absolutely fine. The chances of it being cancerous are really slim.

Now.. as for the other thing. It sounds to me like you definitely have a urinary tract infection. If it feels like a painful "squeezing" after you pee, this is highly likely. Immediate relief can be had by drinking Citrosoda or equivalent (from the chemist) but if it persists a simple course of antibiotics. A quick way to tell is to pee into a clear glass and see if the urine is clear. If it is milky - Infection! NOT CANCER!!!

Good luck and let us know the good news when you get it!

I don't really have any words of wisdom, but I can certainly relate to the feeling. At my worst, I am sometimes convinced that I have not just one but multiple forms of cancer. It is such a depressing and terrifying feeling that your mind just wants to shut down!
But in fact, I've never had any kind of cancer, even though I have been convinced I had them all. And hopefully you don't either, and this feeling will pass, and your mind will find peace again.
Best wishes.

Sorry is this an old post?
I get this pain in my urinary tract when I'm constipated!
Feels really weird, hard to describe, kinda like a UTI but it's not - it's sore but not painful and you feel it afterwards not during, though i can feel it during as well as my pee is thin ;)
As to the bruise under your toe-nail thats great you got a DR that checked it.
When do you get your results?
