Getting upset again

I've been doing pretty well with my HA lately until I got back the results of my gallbladder ultrasound. They found no gallstones but I had a thickening of the gallbladder wall and they are sending me to a surgeon to get his opinion! I have never heard of this, what is it, what causes it, is it serious??? Does it require surgery?? I know I should have asked the nurse that called with the results these questions but I was shocked. Can any shed any light on this please??? I am worried sick.

i know its hard but please try not to worry... i have worried loads of times about things bit like this and its turned out to be nothing... i know nothing about gallbladders but if i were you i would ring the dept that called you and ask them a few questions. or if they have given you your appointment for the specialist then ring their office and ask for advice.. or you could ring your dr fr advice... in the uk we have an advice line called nhs direct where you can ring for advice on medical conditions do you have anything like that in the us?

My gallbladder was removed last year with keyhole surgery because it was inflammed. I strongly believe this was caused by too much acid thanks to anxiety. I'm not saying this is the problem you are suffering from but it's a thought.

Well, it turns out I DON'T have gallbladder wall thickening! The nurse told me wrong. What I have is a common bile duct enlargement! Now I am really worried, it could be a stone lodged in there or cancer and all points in between. Apparently bile duct cancer is rare which should be comforting to me but of course, it's not. Ultrasound did show that liver, pancreas and kidney were all unremarkable which is a good sign I guess. I am just praying that this is not a serious problem and can be resolved easily. If anyone has experienced common bile duct enlargement please feel free to put in your 2 cents and even if you haven't I'd appreciate your 2 cents too!!
