I don't know what to do - I can't keep going like this.

I have got myself into such a state, even when I'm in bed my mind is racing and I have convinced myself that I am going mad. I know that people who go mad don't know it but have worked myself up so much and the drealisation is so bad that I'm beginning to make myself believe that I don't know what is real.

I just can't cope with feeling like this and am terrified that I will go mad and not be able to live with my children or carry on a normal life.

I've woken up with really bad, DR,DP, the shakes, dizziness and I am scared :( I've taken some propranolol.

Hi Annie,

Im sorry your having a bad time of it lately, I dont know if its the weather but I am going through a bad time too at the moment.
The dizzyness is always my worst symptom which seems to stop me doing things but I think its the way we are breathing which causes it.
It will pass ,what we are going through is a nasty blip and we will come out of it again like I have done before.
How much propranolol have you taken and has it helped?

Annie

Propanolol won't calm down any racing thoughts, dizziness or help DP and please don't take more than prescribed. More is not better.

Your best bet when you're like this is to get moving around doing gentle tasks. Put on some favourite music and steady yourself by doing something that needs concentration on.

Going mad is not even an option for you. The disease patterns don't work that way.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

Yes it is Annie. You're very right, its damn awful.

But by reacting with further fear it does make it worse and as we have such a hard time silencing the thoughts sometimes its easier to drown them out by doing something else for a while.

hiya annie,

sorry you're struggling a bit.. i know what its like when your thoughts seem to go racing and you can't stop them. But meg is right and by doing something else you will put your mind on something else.. good music is great, something uplifting.. get some abba on.. or barry white.. something fun.. and dance around even though you dont feel like it..

remember this... IT WILL PASS....this feeling wont last forever..

you'll make it through hun, just be patient.

love lisa
