hi,

i was wondering if anyone out there who experinces anxiety sometimes feels like they are about to fall right through the ground into nothingness. sometimes this gets so bad that i actully cant stand for very long because i start to wig myself out. can anyone help me?

Hi Brad,

Yes I have had it two or three times last year, I posted about it at the time and no one else seemed to say they had had it then, although many had similar things.
It's a horrible feeling isn't it. Sorry I can't say much to help though but you're not alone in this.

You are not alone. I totally understand this feeling and when I was at my worst, I felt like I was falling all the time - pretty strange when you're sat down or even laying in bed.

It was worse at night and I could never sleep for long before waking up with a jump because it felt like I was falling.

Take heart - as your anxiety decreases as you get further on with recovery, so does that feeling. It's just a side-effect of the adrenaline rushing around your body. When you get that under control, the feeling will subside.

When you get this you need to start walking and prove to yourself that you are not going to fall down. It is a common complaint .
