My sister was having trouble with her periods while on the pill every month where she would have pain (in her back and stomach), feel sick (and be sick) and basically couldn't eat for 4 days. This came on suddenly, she's been on the pill for about 7 years before this happened so we know it's not the pill. The Dr sent her for an ultrasound on her pelvic region (ovaries look normal) but the person doing doing the ultrasound found one of her kidneys wasn't draining properly. Anyone she had loads of tests and in the end had a kidney stent put in (which she still has now). She's been stressing as she's doing a charity trek in Peru in May (raising money for the Alzheimers Society) and needed it sorting so she can book flights, travel insurance etc but with only 6 weeks till she goes has only just been given the go ahead by her consultant.

As of today she's been told he is discharging her (stent will come out in 6 months) and referring her to a gynocologist to see if she has endometriosis. A letter is being sent to her Dr today.

Just wondering if anyone here has it and what sort of symptoms they have? My sister has really bad lower back pain and stomach pains, feels very sick or is sick, really tired etc every month when on her period (she's been off the pill for 4 months) but the rest of the month she is ok.

Also she has high blood pressure (she's only 28) and am wondering if because she has this she can be given anything to help with her periods (she's on blood pressure meds which is controlling it)? She is due to go away to Peru in 6 weeks and is due on the day she goes but she can't have her period while she is away (because it's that bad she wouldn't be able to trek). She's seeing her Dr on Monday but just wondering what they can give her?
