this question is for people who had GAD and have smoked marijuana while on their medication for it, so let's please try and keep the preaching to a minimum:

i'm planning on smoking this weekend and wondering if i could have an adverse reaction while high because i'm currently taking an SSRI (celexa 20mg) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Right now i don't suffer from much anxiety at all, and was just wondering if people have smoked while on SSRIs and had a negative experience [:P] Better safe than sorry in my opinion, thanks in advance!

I have smoked weed whilst on seroxat and had no major problems.

I wouldn't recommend continually doing so just because from what I can remember, my anxiety increased a little for the days afterwards.

i have been on a few meds and am currently on 70mg venlafaxine twice daily. i have smoked whilst on meds mostly to help me sleep as i suffer from insomnia. ive never had any adverse reactions to it whilst smoking its the next couple days after when your lower than usual and all you want is another joint, it can turn into a vicious circle. but who am i to preach eh!!just watch what your doing cos everyones different.

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.

I wouldn't have thought you'd have adverse reactions with the medication, and I'm not in a position to preach on the subject, but marijuana and anxiety are a bad mix. You probably know that already though.

While besides being illegal (yeah, you could get in trouble if you get caught and wouldn't that increase your anxiety level??), it's generally not a good mix.
