Can someone please explain to me how or why anxiety gives numbness. I keep getting numb toes & burning sensations in my skin. I defianlty have anxiety. We were out looking at toes and my toes felt sort of numb driving me crazy!!!

The type of numbness experienced by anxiety and hyperventilating is very different from the type of numbness experienced by more serious neurological conditions. Numbness due to anxiety which is often to do with an altered ph level due to over breathing is much like you get by laying on your arm while sleeping, pins and needles type numbness. True numbness which is from a neurological condition is normally more like you get when a dentist numbs you up during a tooth extraction. I hope this puts your mind at rest,
