Meds question

Hi

I've been taking Seroxat for around 6 weeks now, up to 30mg for HA and GAD and I'm not finding it is doing anything other than the usual lowering of libido etc...

I'm getting really panicky about the possibility that my Anxiety is beyond treatment, I've used Seroxat before with good results and actually over from Citalapram because it didn't seem to be helping.

Do I give it more time or ask the doctor about upping my dose? I have a huge obsession at the moment which is at the core of my problem and I've read that for OCD type stuff often the dose needs to be higher!! I also have huge muscle tension that builds every day particular in the mouth, jaw and head and it's basically means that my evenings are a write off.

It's so depressing, even the CBT I'm having doesn't feel like it's doing an awful lot yet.

I seriously need a dose of optimism

Yes, I do think increasing could help (especially with your OCD). However, bear in mind that the "tension" you're getting around your mouth etc may be increased in the short-term, as this is most definitely a paroxetine side effect (I know because I had it when I was on it). But with time this should settle and abate - so don't think it'll last forever.

I would speak to your doctor about increasing to 40mg and see how you get on.
